At the moment, just about everything is new to me and I'll be trying very hard make up for lost time. For instance, two of my good friends on the Web started their own sites a few months before me:

When you look at how far both of their sites have evolved I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

If you have never had a website of your own, I can assure that it takes a lot of work to keep it up-to-date, interesting and have plenty of fresh content to attract YOU the visitors to BIZ-Banana.com.

The site will be changing constantly from now on, so please come back often check for the latest developments. You can help a great deal by telling family, friends and acquaintances about us.

Once our overhaul is well under way, we’ll be introducing you to some completely new subjects to the site. Here comes the first one now...

My daughter, Sheila, has always wanted to start her own business; in fact it was this interest that motivated me to resurrect this site. She knew that I had more or less given it up altogether but she asked for some advice on how to get started. As it happened, she didn’t need all that much help with creating her own site but it kick-started my enthusiasm to get back to work.

Anyway, Sheila is a whiz at office administration and wanted to be a virtual assistant. I had heard the term before but knew next to nothing about the subject (and still don't), other than what I had gleaned from the web. Before my enforced absence, I had decided to do some research on the subject. At that time, about a year ago, most of the information came from sites in the US but now there are plenty UK sites.

So, what we’ve decided to do is find out as much about it and make it the subject of our next major report. We'll also keep you posted regularly on how Sheila gets on with her fledgling business.

A Year On The Net Is...

Someone once said: “Week is a long politics”, well I’m here to tell you “A year on the internet is an absolute eternity!”

I’ll show you what I mean.

Just over a year ago I signed up with Listbot to manage my newsletter archives and subscription list. I had nearly five hundred subscribers – not bad considering I was hors de combat all year. Because the sign-up procedure was mostly automatic, visitors to the site had only to leave their email address and wait for the next newsletter.

So now that we’re back on track, all I have to do now is take up where I left off...

... wrong!

Would you believe it; within the last couple of weeks Listbot have closed their doors and started another scheme called List Builder, which costs a measly $269 a year! As a past Listbot client, I can get a good discount but for the moment I think I’ll make ‘other arrangements’ and look for a better deal.

As soon as I find a new host for the newsletter, I’ll let everyone know. In lieu of the newsletter, I’ll post all the latest news on this page – so check in every few days.

Next up. A few of you will have noticed that what used to be called bizbanana.co.uk is now bizbanana.com. There are a few reasons why but most of them you won’t have to worry about. The only obvious is that the email addresses will be different. Another reason is that with new URL will allow us to check our own progress 'live' before we start to promote the site seriously and be listed in the search engines. So if you've come across us by accident, please patient for now and consider BIZ-Banana.com 'work in progress'.
